Beetroot is well known as a rich source of potent antioxidants and nutrients including:

They are also an excellent source of calcium, magnesium, copper, phosphorus, sodium and iron.

Betacyanin is the phytochemical in beet that gives it its rich Amethyst colour that significantly reduces homocysteine levels.

The Beetroot flakes can be added to the diet daily either dried, boiled until soft and served warm or soaked for 24 hours and rinsed well.
